Once the duty is complete, the bonus is applied to the whole party and displayed on the buff bar. Theoretically, the knight can have his comrades do all the work, and it would still count as having completed his duties. Duty progress is shared, meaning actions of every team member contribute to it. Requirements on some duties scale with Difficulty, but the bonuses never do.
